Musings on a Young Tree

tree1aLean, lean, lean deep
Touch the wet ground
Bounce, bounce, bounce high
Reach for the clouds
Lean, Bounce, Dip, Dive
Too fast, slow down
I hear your sinews groan
I see your branches flail
Lean, bounce, whoosh, whip
Cannot slip the wind’s grip
Lean, bounce, twist, turn
You learn to dance until it burns
