The ambulance rushes by
To someone else’s emergency
The sirens of urgency bring
My troubles into context
The troubles in my mind
Some real, some imaginary
Will the sirens come to me when
My troubles spring to life
Who will call, will I even call
Would I rather struggle with them alone
Than have to explain, to interact
With those who would help
I hear the sirens singing
I pray they will not sing for me
